Globally recognised for his rich vocal range and intimate songwriting, TEEKS – aka Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi – is one of Aotearoa’s most celebrated musical voices. Since emerging with his breakthrough EP, The Grapefruit Skies (2017), and following it with the platinum-certified debut album Something To Feel (2021), the Northland-born singer-songwriter has built a devoted following on the strength of deeply intimate songwriting and a compelling baritone timbre. The recent release of his first single in more than two years, My Boy, challenges ideas around queerness and masculinity, signalling a new chapter of emotional candour.

A fixture in Aotearoa’s top music honours, TEEKS has earned multiple accolades, including Aotearoa Music Awards for Best Māori Artist, Best Solo Artist and Best Soul/R&B Artist, as well as taking out MTV European Music Award’s Best NZ Act 2021 and Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s Best New Artist 2022. This performance marks the singer’s first Opera House appearance since his sold-out debut at Vivid LIVE 2022.
