The debut novelist sat down with Irresistible Magazine in Bali at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2024, to discuss her breakthrough book Mongrel, her process, and what’s next. Mongrel was shortlisted for the Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize 2024. The novel weaves together the voices of three young women in Japan and the UK. Footman studied at LAMDA, and her acting credits include The Crown, Mad House, and Offical Secrets.
